Chrisovitsi was a main logging center. In 1939 a large timber factory was built which played a significant role in the Arcadian economy. The museum is housed here at this factory. It traces the first steps of the industrial revolution on Arcadian soil. At the same time it demonstrates the importance of the great mountain of Mainalo and the history of the area. Indeed Mt Mainalo has played a great role in the history of Arcadia, both as a hideout and base for Arcadian army deserters and as a supplier of raw materials, such as forestry materials. The museum has exhibitions of tools and practical woodcutting as well as the processing of wood.
